I had the chance to work with Katie Johnson in a special education classroom, and she was such a positive and steady presence every day. From the start, it was clear how much she cared about the students and how committed she was to making sure they felt supported, encouraged, and included.
Katie knew how to meet each student where they were, and they really responded to that. She took the time to understand each student's personality, needs, and learning style. Whether she was helping someone stay focused, talking them through a tough moment, or celebrating a small win, she always stayed patient and calm.
One of the things that stood out about Katie was how creative and flexible she was. She’d constantly come up with ways to adapt lessons or activities so everyone could take part. She wasn’t afraid to try new approaches or think outside the box when something wasn’t working.
She was also a great teammate—super reliable, easy to work with, and always willing to lend a hand. Her steady, supportive presence made a big difference in the classroom atmosphere, and the students clearly felt safe and comfortable with her around.
Working with Katie was truly a pleasure. She brought heart, skill, and dedication to everything she did, and she made a real impact on both the students and the staff.
